This is a photo I took in 2001 of Tunnel Creek in far northern Western Australia (near Derby). A very beautiful but eerie and mystical place. For more photos on Flickr.com, just search for sonofringo.
I can't quite recall. The tunnel itself went on for quite a while so I guess it depends on where you are standing in it. I remember we had to wade through a few pools of water to get to the other end. A must do if you are in the top end of Australia. Ringo
I can't recall any echoes - must have been the stream running through the cave that dampened sound. Also, the First Australians (SBS) mentioned Jandamarra the other night. Legend has it, he hid in this cave and Kimberley area to evade capture by the Constabulary over a century ago.

Were you able to hear the sound of your voice echoing around the tunnel or did the words just run out of the end of the tunnel.
